Brian Mengini is a professional photographer based in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In February of 2005, after years of frustration, the Menginis’ eldest child Dominic, was diagnosed with SPD. Shortly after, Brian and his wife Sandy, embarked on an advocacy mission for SPD. First was the creation of Dominics Dreams Foundation which holds a variety of community outreach and education programs and events to raise awareness for SPD and give sensory families safe and family friendly events. Brian then set out to create the first ever SPD awareness calendar which was for the 2009 calendar year. He was also the inspiration and contributing photographer for the 2011 SPD calendar produced by Carrie Fannin. In addition to volunteering his time and services for programs related to SPD and Autism, Brian has been a guest writer for the SPD Foundation’s newsletter and SI Focus magazine.
